Shepherds Hut Rural Retreats
Mountain Lodge is situated on a hill top high above the historic Gwrych Castle, a Grade I listed 19th century gothic folly in Abergele, North Wales.
It is a truly unique setting, adjacent to an Iron Age fort and with panoramic views of the Carneddau mountain range in the Snowdonia National Park.

The shepherds hut is a work of art, superbly insulated, beautifully crafted and based on the original 19th century Victorian shepherd's hut with simple furnishings.
It makes for the ideal hideaway and rural retreat taking you back in time for a truly relaxing and unique place to stay.
Full size double bed
The shepherds hut has a full size double bed and is heated by a small wood-burner with a kettle on hand for making a pot of tea or real ground coffee. A renovated stable close by to the hut has all the facilities that you will need during your stay and is for your exclusive use. You can have breakfast in the hut or the stable and home cooked evening meals are available on request.
We are conveniently located to explore the rich scenery and heritage of North Wales. There are wonderful walks in Snowdonia, the Clwydian Hills and the Conwy Valley and Anglesey boasts some of the finest beaches in the country. Whatever you would like to do we can help you to make the most of your stay with us at Mountain Lodge.
